Coming soon to Connect IQ

In preparation

Smart Lock Watch is not in the Connect IQ store yet. It will appear there when Garmin approves it. This page will then get the install button and the price.

Smart Lock Watch sends the command straight from your wrist, so you can leave your keys and phone at home. Watches with Wi-Fi send it over their own Wi-Fi connection (in the settings you can also choose your phone), every other supported watch uses your phone. After every action the screen shows the lock state and the battery level of the lock.

One press and a confirmation open the door, one press closes it
Works without your phone on watches with Wi-Fi (for example fenix 7 and 8, epix 2, Forerunner 955 and 965, Venu 3, MARQ Gen 2)
Watches without Wi-Fi send the command through your phone
Colored padlock: locked, open or in progress, with the battery level of the lock
Connects through the Tedee cloud with your own access key, or through your own relay if you host one
Finds your lock by itself; with several locks, type the lock name in the settings
Confirmation before unlocking, which you can switch off

What you need: a Tedee lock with a Tedee Bridge and a free access key. In the Tedee portal (portal.tedee.com) create a Personal Access Key with "Devices: Read" and "Operate: Lock". Then open Garmin Connect, Connect IQ, Smart Lock Watch, Settings and paste the key.

Privacy: the app sends commands only to api.tedee.com, or to the relay address you enter yourself. Your key stays on your watch and in Garmin Connect. No account, no tracking, no analytics.

Important: after the free trial the app stops opening the door until you enter the unlock code, so do not make it your only way into your home. This is not an official Tedee product.

How to use it

Open Smart Lock Watch from the watch's app menu.

Controls: UP and DOWN (or a swipe) switch between Unlock and Lock, START (or a tap on the lower half of the screen) runs it, BACK leaves.

Permissions and privacy

This product asks the watch for the permissions below. Connect IQ shows them when you install it.

Internet through the phone: Lets the watch make a web request through your phone. Used only for the colour service described below.

Popular colour sets service

Every 6 hours the face downloads the list of popular colour sets from dialforge.dev. If you changed the colour set, it also sends that set's number. The request contains only the number, the face name and the face version. It contains no watch ID, no unlock code and no e-mail. We count choices, not people. Details: privacy policy.

FAQ

What happens after the 30-day free trial?

The app shows a screen asking for a one-time unlock code from dialforge.dev instead of opening normally. Buy the code once below, no subscription.

Does the app send my data to Dialforge?

No. The app works fully offline, and the unlock code is checked on the watch itself, without contacting any server.

The app does not work as described on my watch. Can I get a refund?

Yes. Write through the feedback form below, or to the e-mail in the footer. If we cannot fix it, we refund you, as described in the terms.
